Anything But “Off Duty,” Natalie Suarez Takes Us Into Her Closet to Expose All

You have to appreciate the irony that is Natalie Suarez’s social media moniker, @NatalieOffDuty. Between traveling the world to walk the runway, snapping up pictures for her über popular style blog, or designing shoes with older sister, Dylana, Natalie is never quite “off duty.”

So when the model-turned-blogger invited us to her home in New York City for an exclusive look into her closet, we of course jumped at the chance to be in the presence of rack on racks of glamour; what we didn’t expect to see had us singing a different tune.

Perched up in the corner of Natalie’s bedroom is a gorgeous mahogany-finished acoustic guitar, a gift from her beau and one of her most prized possessions. At our request, Natalie grabs the guitar and begins strumming and humming her song, “Factory” softly on her bed. It is clear that music plays an instrumental role in her life and style.

Citing Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan as major style influences, it’s no surprise that Natalie gravitated to the menswear-inspired button down blouse and slim fitting, houndstooth print pants by Attention. “These eccentric people have really influenced my mood and attitude when getting dressed,” she tells us.

As she gets ready for a music gig though, Natalie wants to turn up the dial by dressing up a bit. She grabs a black skater dress by Attention that speaks to both her feminine and rock n’ roll side with its fit and flare silhouette and faux-leather paneling. Natalie continues her casual cool look by adding a bit of boyish charm to her ensemble with a tweed and glitter baseball cap from Joe Boxer and a pair of embellished slip-on kicks by Bongo. Wearing a bit of shimmer on stage is a must, according to Natalie, and we couldn’t agree more.
